The Norman Rockwell connection

Since I was a little girl, I have been enthralled with Norman Rockwell. Life- real life- is about looking at appreciating and embracing simple things right in front of us.

When I dreamed up the idea of Bonne Vie Fitness. It was a 3 fold mission. 1) to serve the trainers in my industry and give them a professional environment to grow their business as well as to create a team atmosphere amongst them 2) To continue to give my clients MORE then just fitness. It is about your entire life changing.... Maybe you aren't going to be a size 2 and maybe you aren't going to push press your body weight. But you can begin to get healthier, have a positive mental attitude, make connections with other people and overall enhance the quality of your life. 3) Create a place where everyone knows your name and is always glad you came. All of us try and take a personal interest in our clients, but more importantly you are all apart of a family here.
As the Holiday Season is underway, don't forget to create memories, and enjoy the simple part of the good life.

All Natural Anti-Inflammatory!

MOXXOR, the most powerful concentrate of all-natural omega-3's and antioxidants on the planet exclusively from the pure pristine environment of New Zealand…The story behind Moxxor begins in the spectacular Marlborough Sounds region on the South Island of New Zealand where the nutrient-rich Tasman and South Pacific oceans collide. In this natural pristine environment grow perna canaliculus, the New Zealand greenlip mussel, source of the world's most powerful and effective all-natural Omega-3.

For over thirty years, scientists and researchers have known of the anti-inflammatory healing properties of the greenlip mussel grown only in New Zealand. Today, Noel and John Turner are fulfilling their vision of bringing this powerful and effective all-natural omega-3s to YOU!

Many illnesses can be attributed in part to inflammation. Man-made anti-
inflammatory products have proven themselves to be potentially dangerous. Doctors, researchers and scientists around the globe are recognizing and embracing the significance of omega-3s for heart health, joint strength, brain function development, and overall well-being. Studies have shown that diets high in omega-3s can safely assist to reduce pain and illnesses associated with heart disease, cirrhosis of the liver, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, depression, dry-eye, psoriasis, and allergies. New Zealand greenlip mussels are shown to have the highest concentration of omega-3 essential oils on the planet.

Looking to provide a complete world-class wellness product, the preeminent antioxidant has been added. The world's most powerful antioxidant comes from within the sauvignon blanc grape seed husk found only in the Marlborough region. Researchers have shown that antioxidants effectively combat free-radicals and aging.

So what makes the Marlborough Sounds region of New Zealand so unique and rare? The hole in the ozone layer above the Marlborough region creates intense UV radiation which causes all organisms living in this environment to evolve.

The visionaries and co-founders of Moxxor, Noel and John Turner, have taken the most effective all-natural anti-inflammatory and blended it with the world's most potent antioxidant to create MOXXOR.

Ever feel like you're living life on a pendulum?

-- Lisa Nichols
One day you're swinging high. Life is great and couldn't be better.
The next day you're swinging low, and nothing's working as you think it should. You maybe feel like you want to ditch a frustrating job or trade in a sticky relationship for a bag of peanuts.
This is when we feel the most uncomfortable. It's usually because we're putting up a lot of resistance, or we don't show much flexibility.
We forget that life is always changing -- even though change is the only constant in life.
That's why it's important to give everything in your life, every part of your life, an opportunity to ebb and flow, to breath in and out, to contract and expand.
If you had a health regime that you were excited about six months ago and now it's fallen by the wayside, don't beat yourself up. Accept that other priorities have taken precedence in your life.
If you can't work out for an hour every day, do something small. Take time to notice your breath and practice deep breathing for five minutes a day. Start drinking an extra glass of water a day.
Your goals are likely to constantly change.
Perhaps you've already achieved a particular goal in your career or found another interest leading you down an entirely new path. Then shift your goals, and take one small step forward.
Everything does not have to be done today. Remember, life is a journey, not a destination.
Embark on a tempered process that allows you to enjoy the journey. Every single day do something that will bring you closer to your bliss, to your joy. It doesn't have to be something huge, overwhelming, or daunting.
So many people are so focused on getting to the goal that when they finally look up, they realize they missed the whole journey. I believe that the universe wants you to celebrate while you're inside that process, while you're on the journey.
So be kind to yourself while you're swinging on the pendulum... and enjoy the ride.

Pilates

Pilates, pronounced /pɪˈlɑ:ti:z/ is system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates in Germany. As of 2005 there are 11 million people who practice the discipline regularly and 14,000 instructors in the US

The program focuses on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and which are essential to providing support for the spine . In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles.

Mind over matter
According to practitioners, the central aim of Pilates is to create a fusion of mind and body, so that without thinking about it the body will move with economy, grace, and balance. The end goal is to produce an attention-free union of mind and body. Practitioners believe in using one's body to the greatest advantage, making the most of its strengths, counteracting its weaknesses, and correcting its imbalances. The method requires that one constantly pay attention to one's body while doing the movements. Paying attention to movement is seen as so vital that it is considered more important than any other single aspect of the movements

Breathing
He believed in circulating the blood so that it could awaken all the cells in the body and carry away the wastes related to fatigue. For the blood to do its work properly, he maintained, it has to be charged with oxygen and purged of waste gases through proper breathing. By this standard, if you stop breathing during exercise, there is an error in your practice. Full and thorough inhalation and exhalation are purportedly a part of every Pilates exercise. Pilates saw forced exhalation as the key to full inhalation. “Squeeze out the lungs as you would wring a wet towel dry,” he is reputed to have said.Pilates breathing should be done with concentration, control, and precision. Proper and effective breathing, practitioners assert, not only oxygenates the muscles, but also reduces tension in the upper neck and shoulders. Pilates breathing is described as a posterior lateral breathing, meaning that the practitioner is instructed to breathe deep into the back and sides of his or her rib cage. When the practitioner exhales, they are instructed to note the engagement of their deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles and maintain this engagement as they inhale. Pilates attempts to properly coordinate this breathing practice with movement, including breathing instructions with every exercise. Joseph stated, “Even if you follow no other instructions, learn to breathe correctly

Take the time today to set up a Free 20 minute consultation with our Director Bethany Soderberg to find out how pilates can improve your running, increase your core strength, improve your posture, decrease your back and neck pain! bethany@bonneviefitness.com
